Trieste in the time you have

The centre of Trieste, the Rive waterfront and the sea lie within a few minutes on foot: a few hours show more than one would expect. Below is what fits into three hours, into half a day and into a full day, and how much time each ship call leaves.

Three hours

The city seen from the sea leaves from le Rive, a short walk from Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, and reaches Duino: nine stages along the coast, the row of palaces, the old port and Miramare seen from the water. Up to six people on board, a 7.50 metre boat with 150 horsepower, handled by licensed crew.

About three hours · departure from le Rive · 100 € per person, 60 € for children up to twelve

Half a day

With five or six hours the three-hour trip still leaves time for the centre on foot: Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, Molo Audace and the Canal Grande are minutes from the mooring. For those who prefer to stay at sea there is fishing in the gulf: about six hours, departure at dawn, tackle provided, up to three people.

A full day

A full day allows the self-drive dinghy: five and a half metres, forty horsepower, no boat licence required, leaving from Marina dei Filtri in Aurisina, outside the city. Before departure the boat and the stretch of coast are explained.

How much time your ship leaves

The calendar of calls shows, for each ship, the arrival and departure times, the hours ashore and whether the three-hour trip fits within the call. The time is agreed at the time of booking, keeping a wide margin on the ship's departure.
